Alice Thompson

Alice grew up in rural Northumberland. Educated in Vienna and Munich, she started working in the world of interiors over 20 years ago. She did her training in London with Prue Lane Fox and following a spell living in Paris, returned to London, and founded Cooch Co in 1998. In November 2005, Cooch & Co relocated to Harrogate in North Yorkshire, following Alice’s decision to move closer to her roots.

We take great pride in the execution of a project from start to finish, combining time, enthusiasm and versatility with friendliness, efficiency, and professionalism. From the outset, the team shares your worry, fun and excitement, meeting all challenges with a cheerful and diplomatic approach. Our company watchwords are ‘diligence’, ‘dedication’ and ‘detail’: working with these in mind, and with fantastic teams of builders, architects, painters, and other specialists, we approach every job with meticulous attention to detail.

Style

Cooch & Co has taken on both traditional and contemporary projects, ranging from individual rooms and flats to large houses. We can take care of anything from damp proofing to dado rails, libraries to lampshades. We share our knowledge of suppliers and trade secrets to get you exactly what you want, in budget and on time. We will be there from beginning to end – from our first meeting to placing the last ornament on the mantelpiece.

To us, each client’s needs are different, and we aim to be sympathetic to their way of life, whether it be a private or commercial venture. We are always aware that for many people, the thought of their home being turned upside down is a daunting prospect: we aim to minimise the stress involved and create a living environment that reflects their desires and needs.
